My daughter's Blog

Our daughter's both started a blog last year to share and just put some fun things on.  Well our oldest is quite the artist and we are encouraging her to find some way to market her passion into something that can eventually be a source of income for her as she gets older.  She has slowly worked up to getting a few things on it. 

I just love the picture she has on there now.  It is one of her older brother's friend Jason, and it is just awesome (I know mom can say that), but she "caught" him so well in her picture.

She cartoons people, so she is trying to get the word out that if you would like to be "cartooned" to contact her!  Here is the link~!

First Day of Homeschooling~Nearing the Finish Line

We started on this journey 17 years ago, pretty much with no clue what we were doing. Hubby and I were both public school graduates, who leaped, both feet first, into the world of homeschooling with our five children. The three oldest had a year or two under their belt, the youngest two never stepped inside a school building. It was hard, wonderful, scary and fulfilling all at the same time. I know that is one my greatest achievements here on this earth.   The first day of school picture looks very different this year. Just him and I. My baby (not so much). Things change as they get older, learning to read and write is taken over by career goals and job searches. Goat Alarm

Tripp and Tiberius and Momma Most farmers have roosters that let them know it is time to get up.  Not us, we picked goats.  That silly face staring at you is Robin.  She is one of the six goats that live here at Tail Spin Farm.  She is my alarm clock these days.  If I am not out to feed them before 5:45 a.m. she lets me know it is time at 5:46.  She has also taught the "new guys on the block", Tripp and Tiberius how things work so they have now joined her in her early morning tirade of goat song. I wouldn't mind it so much, except for the neighbors who live pretty close to us (we do all our "farming" on an acre!).  I would hate for there to be an issue in regards to this.  So I continue my early morning trip out to the barn hoping to beat her up.  I am just waiting for the hot days of summer and knowing that both neighbors have central air and their windows will be shut tight and I won't have to worry so much about waking someone early in the morning
