February

The month is flying by and I realize my blogging has been few and far between.  The goats are doing great, they have such personalities!  Claire has become a favorite even to Hubby who goes out to hang out with them daily.  I am looking forward to the warmer weather and getting their permanent shelter and fencing done.  I haven't had any luck with the last 3 angoras that I bred.  I tried again though and we will see in the next couple of weeks if we shall have any spring babies.  It is cold here in Michigan again and we were hit with another huge storm this week.  I am ready for the snow to be gone permanently, but am always reminded of the verse in Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven." and I know that applies to the snow too.  We had two big birthdays this month our youngest daughter turned twelve.  This was a big birthday for her since this was the year that we set for the to be ab...

Update from Terri

Terri from http://ourcrazyfarm.blogspot.com  has updated her blog.  Her exploding faith during this tragedy continues to amaze and inspire me.

Blogger Friends

I read on facebook this morning that one of my dear blogger friends lost her son on Friday.  I have never met Terri  http://www.ourcrazyfarm.blogspot.com/  in person and probably never will, but her and I would hit it off if we were to meet.  She and I share a lot of the same things, 5 kids, 2 by adoption, homeschoolers, love the Lord, have goats, and many more I am sure.  We have emailed, and blogged back and forth. This morning I am saddened by her loss and can't imagine how hard it is.  Their family is in our prayers as they go through this difficult time, knowing that God has a plan in store for it all! Please keep this family in your prayers.

Purging and Winter Storm

I woke up this morning with the intentions of staying in my PJ's all day and maybe tomorrow.  Let me explain, I usually would NEVER do this, but the last few weeks we have been in constant motion.  The "sickness" bug has hit us again and now we have strep throat in the house.  I have boasted about how healthy all five of our kids have been in the past.  Not this year, it has been the worst.  We cancelled our usual church meeting for Sunday morning due to illness in hopes of purging all of it. I went to the basement this morning to look for Canadian bacon in our chest freezer and found out that our freezer wasn't working.  So there goes the great dream of sitting and correcting school work to whatever PBS had on.  Hubby and Eldest went to purchase a new freezer (an upright one at my request) and the Next and I spent the morning "purging" the basement.  This is something I truly admire in my second oldest, he does NOT like clutter at all...

Sunshine

It is 6:21 p.m. and it is still light outside.  It is the little things in my life right now that make me happy.  It is COLD outside.  They say it is the coldest we have had this winter.  We survived the big blizzard last week.  The goats did great.  Hubby and I didn't get much sleep that night.  I got to experience what I like to call my "Laura Ingalls Wilder" experience.  We went out to check all the animals in the midst of it all and it was BAD!  We couldn't see anything in front of us.  The last storm like it, was back in the 70's here in Michigan when I was about 7. The goats are warming up to us.  Claire "the older one" of the group is making the way for the other two who are only a couple months old.  Hubby has found himself enjoying them as much as I do (I think:))  I have grand plans for our "fiber farm" here, but not sure all of them will ever pan out.  I have considered getting out of the angora rabbit ar...
