This is why every day is Mother's day.

We have gone from 80 degrees yesterday to the 40's this morning in Michigan. Brr. It is supposed to last through the weekend. I am not too upset as we have 2 alpacas and 6 pygora goats that need to be sheared and this will keep them cool until Sunday when we are able to get to it. I also have about 20 angora rabbits that I will be shearing starting next week as well. The bunnies just don't do well in the heat at all, plus that gives me more fiber to spin.  School finishes here for us next week. I am so excited, it has been a LONG year. I am looking forward to some time to garden, knitting and spinning and enjoying summer with my kiddos. Eldest moves home from college next week and 2 yr old foster son is still here and probably will be for a while;) He is a sweet little boy that is growing by leaps and bounds. I have an amazing Hubby.  He spoils me rotten.  I have a very long "Honey, I think we should do this list".  Sometimes he puts his foot down (like when I wanted to sell everything we had and live in a cabin in the woods), but for the most part he enjoys most of the plans I come up with even with all the work involved.  He says he likes the farm work, it is de-stressor (is that a word?) from his hectic, stressful day job as a chemist. We had an extra turkey pen sitting empty (after my grand plans of raising and selling heritage breed turkeys went, well, south).  I decided it would be perfect to enclose with plastic and make a greenhouse.  The girls and I were just going to go out there and staple plastic to the frame and call it good.  Hubby thought it best if he did a bit more that that, and oh boy did he!  It is awesome!  He even built shelves for us.  It is on the south side of our barn with lots of sunlight so it is perfect. ...

I have my first batch of bunnies for sale and ready to go next week.  They are pedigree English Angora. Spring is SLOW coming to our neck of the woods.  We did a family road trip today and ran into snow...in mid April.  I can't remember a more miserable spring than this one.  We have had non-stop rain this week.  I know that we are in great need and I try to think ahead to the beautiful gardens and fruit, but it is tough.  We have been trying to keep busy with projects but sometimes that doesn't help either.  I have been keeping busy with our 2 year old foster son and creating when time permits;)  I designed these felted earrings out of angora to go with my necklaces.  They are really fun to make and I am thinking this may make a perfect class here at the farm!  Stay tuned! 21 years ago today I married my best friend.  When the priest said through sickness and health, we had no idea what those words would mean 6 months later (the first 5 years of our marriage I escaped death twice)  God has brought us many blessings, and along with them came the hard times too.  This love has not only endured but grown stronger daily.  I am blessed beyond belief, this man makes me laugh daily and that has brought us through a lot.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for our future! 21 years old many memories 5+kiddos time ALONE together long ago and more recent These smiles are genuine 

Seven English Angora bunnies were born at the farm yesterday!  This is the first batch for many months (not without trying).  This batch came from Kiree and Cyrus, who is in the picture below. He is the cutest rabbit.  It looks like all the babies will be grey!
