We spent the day Saturday getting our garden in. We didn't clean up the garden like we should have last fall, so that took some extra time this year. Thankfully Hubby borrowed the neighbor's plow attachment for our quad and he was able to play plow it up quickly. Our garden is bigger this year so we got a lot in. Not as much as I would have liked though. Of course each year another row of yard is magically plowed to add some more space. I ran the roto-tiller along the "edges" while hubby was playing plowing and got my extra row! I tried something new for us which is companion gardening and I also did less really long rows and more groupings of plants. So we really switched things up. Now if we can just get the weather to cooperate it will all work out. Here in Michigan that is always a test. We could have 90's and humid one day and 50's the next. Last year we were under water until June and then we never got out of the low 70's for temperature

Our English angora rabbit Kiree was due to have babies today.  I went out last night to check on her before I went to bed.  I really thought that she was way too small to have any babies, maybe there would be just a couple in this batch. To my surprise we found 8 in the cage this morning!  See the grey one to the right with the stripe?  He looks just like the dad "Racer" (racing stripe) but reversed colors.  See the stripe on its nose?  The twins hiding from the quad when we cleaned out the barn.  peek-a-boo!  The pool went up this week.  Of course the kids are in it as it is being filled.  That water had to be about 50 degrees, but they didn't care one bit!  Baby kittens are doing well and getting bigger!  The 49 Freedom Rangers are doing amazing and getting ready to be moved into the other area we have for them.  Princess Fiona giving me the eye, wondering what I am doing this morning.  Lazy goats, notice all the barn chickens hanging out wi

Tripp and Tiberius and Momma Most farmers have roosters that let them know it is time to get up.  Not us, we picked goats.  That silly face staring at you is Robin.  She is one of the six goats that live here at Tail Spin Farm.  She is my alarm clock these days.  If I am not out to feed them before 5:45 a.m. she lets me know it is time at 5:46.  She has also taught the "new guys on the block", Tripp and Tiberius how things work so they have now joined her in her early morning tirade of goat song. I wouldn't mind it so much, except for the neighbors who live pretty close to us (we do all our "farming" on an acre!).  I would hate for there to be an issue in regards to this.  So I continue my early morning trip out to the barn hoping to beat her up.  I am just waiting for the hot days of summer and knowing that both neighbors have central air and their windows will be shut tight and I won't have to worry so much about waking someone early in the morning

I don't know where the time goes some days!  We are in the midst of a lot going on right now and I just haven't taken any time to blog about any of it!  My days have been filled with creating, cleaning, organizing and teaching.  We are starting to wind down school, everyone just has "pieces and parts" left.  I am thankful for that, as we have a crazy spring to get through in the next month. College pick day for the Eldest has past.  I truly thought He would be moving to Pennsylvania, at the last minute his first choice college stepped up and offered him a full ride scholarship (this was his fifth full ride offer!)  I was one happy mamma.  So he will only be 20 minutes away and not 13 hours.  I am so thankful, gas money to PBU was looking pretty expensive right now. We have baby bunnies, baby chickens, and baby kittens all over the farm with 50 Freedom Ranger chickens due in the mail today.  (just got the call they are in at the post office!)  So the farm is bloomi
